Alaskan King Bed Sheets

Alaskan King bed sheets must be cut for a 108 × 108 in (274 × 274 cm) mattress. King sheets (76 × 80 in) are 32 in too narrow, so a set has to be made for this size. Our own linen sheet set and duvet cover set for this size are below, made to order in four colors; this page also explains what to look for in any set.

The three numbers that decide whether a set fits

  1. 108 × 108 in. Buy by inches. A 96 × 96 in version or a shorter one (108 × 80 or 108 × 84 in) takes different sheets.
  2. Pocket depth. It must clear the mattress plus any topper. Compare the pocket depth on the listing with the height of your mattress: a 12 in mattress with a 3 in topper needs a pocket of at least 15 in, more for an easy fit.
  3. What is in the set. A full set is a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillowcases. Some listings are the fitted sheet alone, which is why two prices can look far apart for the same size.

Sheet sizes: King against Alaskan King

Size Inches (W × L) Centimeters Surface vs. King
King (Eastern King) 76 × 80 in 193 × 203 cm 42.2 sq ft (3.92 m²) —
California King 72 × 84 in 183 × 213 cm 42 sq ft (3.9 m²) -1%
Wyoming King 84 × 84 in 213 × 213 cm 49 sq ft (4.55 m²) +16%
Alaskan King 108 × 108 in 274 × 274 cm 81 sq ft (7.53 m²) +92%

Every inch the mattress gains, the sheets need too: the fitted sheet of an Alaskan King covers 92% more surface than a King one. Pocket depth and comforter size for the 108 × 108 in mattress are covered in Alaskan King bed size.

Comforters and duvets

A comforter should hang over the edges (duvet or comforter: the difference). A bedding maker's rule of thumb (add 12 in to the length and 16 in to the width) gives about 124 × 120 in for an Alaskan King. Check the finished size on each listing: a comforter the size of the mattress leaves the sides bare. Every other size, from Twin up: comforter size chart.

The bed itself

We sell the Alaskan King firm foam mattress, the Alaskan King latex mattress and the Alaskan King platform bed frame, all made for 108 × 108 in. The full cost of a complete bed is on the Alaskan King bed price page.

Sheets for the other oversized sizes

The rule is the same, only the inches change: Wyoming King 84 × 84 in, Family Bed 120 × 80 in, Family Bed XL 144 × 84 in. See the chart of the biggest bed sizes, the Wyoming King bed or the Family Bed page.

Alaskan King sheets: your questions answered

What size sheets fit an Alaskan King bed?
Sheets made for a 108 × 108 in (274 × 274 cm) mattress: the fitted sheet is 108 × 108 in, with a pocket deeper than the mattress plus any topper. King sheets are 32 in too narrow and 28 in too short.
How deep should the pocket be on an Alaskan King fitted sheet?
Deeper than your mattress plus any topper. Compare the pocket depth on the listing with the height of your mattress: for example, a 12 in mattress with a 3 in topper needs a pocket of at least 15 in, and 18 in fits more easily.
How big is an Alaskan King comforter?
Bigger than the mattress, so it hangs over the sides. A bedding maker's rule of thumb (add 12 in to the length and 16 in to the width) gives about 124 × 120 in. Check the finished size on the listing: several sellers publish none.
Do two King sheet sets cover an Alaskan King?
No. Two King flat sheets can cover the surface, but no fitted sheet will hold on a 108 × 108 in mattress, and the seam sits across the sleeping area.
How much do Alaskan King sheets cost?
Across the oversized-bed makers we track, bedding for this size was listed from $180 to $1,400 on October 12, 2026.
Where can I buy Alaskan King sheets?
From the specialists in oversized beds: most stores stop at King and California King, and their sheets are too small for this size. Ours is a 100% linen sheet set made to order for 108 × 108 in, at $919.
